Bryan Away is the recording alias of Elliot Korte, a songwriter based in Chicago. Elliot has been writing and recording music his whole life, but kept it private until the release of his 2016 album, The Educated Youth, a complex and eclectic mix of songs detailing a coming of age. For his most recent EP, Give In, Elliot reached out to James McAlister (known for work with Sufjan Stevens, Bryce Desner) who, impressed by Elliot’s demos, agreed to produce and perform drums and percussion. The five track project explores personal themes of loss, longing, and isolation over a foundation of intricate guitar work and creative percussion, drawing on influences ranging from Nick Drake to Deerhoof.
